The main building dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, constructed by Don Fernando Rivas as a homage to the prestigious architect Don Anibal Gonzalez. The latter created the famous Plaza de España, Seville's most iconic building and the epitome of the Moorish Revival in Spanish architecture. Built to showcase Spanish industry and technology, the Plaza forms a large semi-circle, lined with buildings linked by ornate bridges that span a moat. An impressive fountain commands the centre.
