In the same heart of the historic and monumental city’s hull, between the Alhambra and the Albayzin, the Hotel Puerta de las Granadas is constructed over a building from the XIX century which was totally rehabilitated in 2004.
It is placed in Cuesta de Gomérez 14, close to the Puerta de las Granadas, from which it gets its name and which is the natural access to the Alhambra monument.
Small hotel with only sixteen rooms, which assures a more personal and direct contact. Keeping the architectonic values of its past, it was given a more modern and functional character, according to present times.
The hotel allows the visitor to stay with the maximum comfort in the centre of the historic city quarter, in walking distance to the most emblematic monuments and the most traditional and trendiest places in town.

Este Hotel Puerta de las Granadas está situado justo en el casco antiguo de la ciudad entre la Alhambra y el Albaicin. Ubicado junto a las Puertas de Granada, de donde procede su nombre, el hotel es un perfecto punto de partida para variedad de atracciones y otros destinos.
Este hotel de 14 habitaciones ofrece un servicio personal y directo. Mantiene todos los valores arquitectónicos del pasado y al mismo tiempo ofrece servicios contemporáneos. Los clientes tienen garantizada una estancia agradable en el hotel.
The hotel’ sixteen rooms are distributed of the following:
Two special rooms are placed on the highest point of the hotel, on the attic. They both have twin beds and both have magnificent views over the city. The one named Mirador Alhambra, that with its five windows has superb views over the Cathedral, the Albayzin and the Alhambra’s Torre de las Vela; and the one named Mirador Catedral, which also has unforgettable views over the Albayzin, the Cathedral and the Carmen del Mauror.
The rest of the rooms are named Mauror and Gomérez depending on it’s location:
The façade of the Mauror rooms is built over the patio/garden that “hangs” from the Carmen de Mauror walls and from the rest of the “Carmenes”, right on the feet of the Alhambra’s hill.
All the Gomérez have a balcony over the access street to the Hotel, and from them you can spot the “Torres Bermejas” of the Alhambra, one of these rooms on the second floor has a wooden and glazed structure over the reconstructed balcony. The rooms on the third floor have views of the Alhambra’s Torre de la Vela
All the rooms have twin beds, except three of the Mauror, that have a double bed.

ALHAMBRA
Going
up Cuesta de Gomérez for 150m. we will find Puerta de las Granadas
which marks the beginning of the Alhambra and which was built over
the “Bib al Buxar” or “puerta de las alegres nuevas”,
a fortified tower that was one of the city’s entrance.
Placed over the old gully of the Sabika, between the hills of the
Alhambra and Mauror, is the door of the precinct, between the Torre
de la Vela and Torres Bermejas, and the natural access from the city.
Going up the hill you will get to the ticket office where you can
buy your entrance to visit Palacios Nazaríes and the rest of
the monuments.
The bus stop that goes up to the Alhambra is 50m. away from the Hotel
in the corner of Cuesta Gomérez and Plaza Nueva.
ALBAYZIN
If you turn left from the hotel, after 50m you will find Plaza Nueva. Big square with terraces, typical food restaurants and souvenir shops. Passed the building Real Chancillería, which nowadays is the Justice Palace, from XVI century, it starts Carrera del Darro, which Hill introduce you to the Albayzin neighbourhood, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, full of monuments and footprints of Granada’s history and that you should know. From any of its corners and little streets you can enjoy unbeatable views of the Alhambra.
CATHEDRAL AND ROYAL CHAPEL
If you walk 200m from Plaza Nueva, on the left you Hill find the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel where the catholic kings are buried, monuments from the XV y XVI century. You will be in the cultural and institutional centre of Granada.
SIERRA NEVADA
During your stay in Granada, you can enjoy the pleasures of Sierra Nevada as the most southern ski station of Europe, and the one with the highest number of sunny days by season, only 30 minutes from our Hotel.
