The castle which adjoins the complex has a long and interesting history. It was originally built by the Phoenicians, then rebuilt by the Moors and finally seized by the Christians during the famous Reconquista in 1495.

The hotel is set in over 7,000 m² of landscaped gardens. Also on site you will find the reception area, with its laundry and Wi-Fi zone.

Area information

The property lies outside the ancient, whitewashed village of Alcaucín. For a walk in the beautiful local countryside head to the scenic Lake Viñuela, a short distance from the Castillo de Zalia complex. The nearest beaches and golf courses are found 20 km away around the town of Velez-Málaga.
