Sierra de Cazorla, declared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO back in 1983 and Natural Park in 1986, consists of a group a rugged mountains criss-crossed by fast flowing rivers forming numerous waterfalls, quiet pools and dense forests that shelter and extraordinaire variety of fauna, such as wild goats, deer, wild boars, wild cats, foxes, otters, royal eagles etc. but also flora, such as the viola cazorlensis or the aquilegia cazorlensis.
